When Amy found the message in her backpack that morning, she was surprised. She carefully pulled the note from her pocket and read it again.

I have a surprise for you. Look under the horse.

The message made her feel curious and excited. Who wrote the note? And what might the surprise be? Amy wasn’t sure what horse the message was talking about. There were no horses at school.

All day, Amy couldn’t think of anything but the note. She was thinking about it in science class when the teacher asked her a question. But, because she wasn’t listening, she didn’t know the answer. The teacher got upset and sent her to the principal.

When she left the principal’s office, Amy saw a small horse statue on the trash bin right outside the office. Was that the horse mentioned in the note? Before she could find out, the bell rang loudly and she had to hurry quietly back to her classroom. It was a long class for Amy. She couldn’t stop thinking about the horse statue. Finally, the bell rang again and her class was over.

Amy ran quickly to the trash bin and the horse statue was still there. She reached towards the horse statue. It was cold, and touching it made Amy shake. She held her breath and gently lifted the statue. There was a folded piece of paper underneath it. She opened it slowly and read:

Ha ha we got you! This joke is for all the tricks you play on us! From Class B
