Welcome to high school, freshmen! Some of you may be worried about making new friends. One of the best ways to meet new people is to join a school club. These are the school’s five most popular clubs.

Speech and Debate Club:
Do you enjoy public speaking? Do you aspire to become a lawyer in the future? Try out the speech and debate club. In this club, you will learn how to express ideas and beliefs clearly and concisely, practice public speaking skills and communication strategies, and stay aware of current events in the world. You may also represent the school in local and national public speaking and debate competitions.

Basketball Club:
Are you interested in sports? The school’s basketball club welcomes members with all levels of experience. Are you completely new on the basketball court? That’s not a problem. A professional coach will teach you from the beginning. Are you already an expert? Come and sharpen your skills by playing matches on a regular basis.

Music Club:
Sign up for the school’s music club if you have experience playing one of these instruments: violin, piano, or flute. No audition is required to participate. In this club, you will learn basics about performance, music history, music theory, and music techniques. In addition, you will attend concerts, give performances, and even go on trips to Disneyland.

Theater Club:
Are you interested in acting and the opportunity to perform on the stage? Are you a fan of William Shakespeare and Cao Yu? Do you already know the fundamentals of acting and want to take your skills to the next level? Then the theater club is right for you. In this club, you will become familiar with the history of theater and various plays. You will also learn advanced acting skills and design costumes for plays. Club members also have the opportunity to audition for the school’s theater productions.

Photography Club:
Got a camera and want to take some good photographs? The school’s photography club will help you hone your photography skills and teach you how to use software to edit and enhance your images. You will also be able to practice your skills through photographing school-related activities and sporting events.
