Dear new student,
First of all, I want to congratulate you for passing the exam to get into West Senior High School. I am writing this letter to share some information about our school and to give you instructions for your first day at school.
On your first day, please come to the school with a parent or other family member at nine o’clock a.m. You should wear your school uniform and carry a school bag. Come to the school’s main entrance, and the school receptionist will tell you where to go.
The first meeting is with me at nine-thirty in the sports hall. I will explain the school rules and introduce you to some of our older students. One of the older students will then give you a tour of the school, including the library and the science department. After the tour, your family member will leave, and you will then spend the rest of the first day meeting your teachers. At eleven o’clock, you will meet one of your teachers in a classroom. The teacher will give you your timetable, so you know what classes you have each day. There will also be some time to get to know your new classmates.
You may feel nervous on your first day. Please do not worry. Some of your classmates will be feeling nervous too, but I am sure they will be friendly, and you will make new friends quickly.
Try to get into good habits at the beginning of the school year. Remember to do your homework, and pack your school bag every night before school. Bring a pencil and a pen, a notebook, and your textbooks to school every day.
I look forward to meeting you on Monday.
Best,
Mrs. Brown
Principal, West Senior High School
